  • Counselling

Other opportunities include working with children, people with special needs and older people. Many organisations offer help with your training and may also pay expenses. Helping in this way can help you to develop new skills. Are you a student? - Volunteering is useful work experience and you can gain qualifications.

Are you working? - You may have a few hours to spare to help someone who has difficulty with reading, writing or simple arithmetic.

Have you recently retired or been made redundant? - Your knowledge and expertise could be put to good use within a community organisation.

Time on your hands? - You may just wish to fill a few hours of your week with something that will benefit both you and the community.
