Why Share a Ride?
The idea behind the scheme is to enable individuals to share lifts to and from work,or pleasure journeys. A number of benefits can be found from this:- Reduces Traffic Problems and Traffic Congestion
- Boosts local economy and employment opportunities
- Cuts the cost of driving by sharing expenses
- Reduces the stress of driving
- Enables you to meet people who you might not normally meet
- Enables those without cars to apply for jobs they could not apply for before
- Reduces car emissions
How Can I Get Involved?
All you have to do is register your details on this site. Alternatively, call us or e-mail us to request further information. You will then be sent a registration form for the scheme. On this form will be a number of questions relating to your preferences and the journeys you make. You do not have to own your own vehicle, however, you should make a note of this on your registration form. Upon receipt of a completed application form your details will be entered onto the "Share a Ride" database. You will then be contacted with any possible matches. .
Does It Cost Anything To Join?
The simple answer is-for individual members- 'No'- it is completely free to register and you may be taken off the database at any time you wish.
